New Tiffen ND Filter Kit for DJI Mini 3 Pro

New Tiffen ND Filter Kit for DJI Mini 3 Pro Announced. Following good tradition, Tiffen has announced an ND filter kit for DJI’s latest entry-level drone: the Mini 3 Pro. The kit includes three ND filters (ND8, ND16, ND32), but no polarizer option for now, it seems.

In case you missed it, the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone is here and for a sub-250g entry-level drone this little guy packs quite a punch in terms of features and video specs. Even better, the latest firmware update quietly added a 10-bit mode when shooting in D-Cinelike (read all about it here).

Here’s a video by Philip Bloom in which he walks you through the new firmware and the drone in general:

The only thing you should definitely take with you, besides the drone itself, are ND filters (and a few spare batteries, of course). In bright sunlight, you’ll have to increase the shutter speed to insane levels, which in turn will have weird effects on motion blur (or lack thereof). That’s why an ND filter is practically mandatory in my book.

The new Tiffen Mini 3 Pro ND Filter Kit gives you three high-quality ND filters (ND8, ND16, ND32). However, the kit does not include a dedicated polarizer or a combination of ND/PL filters, such as those available for the Mavic Air 2S (link).

The kit includes:

  • ND8, ND16, ND32 Filters
  • Waterproof & Anti-Scratch Multi-Coating
  • 4K High-Definition Optical Glass
  • Aluminum Filter Ring
  • Metal Carry Case

Pricing and availability

The new Tiffen Mini 3 Pro ND Filter Kit sells for $69.99 once it becomes available in July. Check back on Tiffen’s homepage for details.

If you want to save a few bucks, DJI also offers its own ND set for the Mini 3 Pro drone. It includes three filters (ND16, ND64, ND256), again without an additional polarizer, and sells for $55. However, at the time of writing this article, it is not in stock.
