Practice yoga twists to improve flexibility and digestion
There is no better way to include yoga in your everyday living to stay fit. Whether it’s during the morning when you wake up, or after a busy and hectic day, there will be nothing better than stretching yourself well. You should do some mild yoga stretches to loosen up. Yoga has been practiced for ages to keep body, mind, and spirit in alignment.
Like many other yoga postures, yoga twists are also important to open up the body and build flexibility. Recently, certified yoga trainer Shynee Narang shared various levels of performing twists that boost umpteen health benefits like making the spine flexible, strengthening the back or simply loosening up.
6 benefits of yoga twists
According to Shynee Narang, yoga twists have not just one but many health benefits. Here are some twists to improve flexibility.
1. Better spine ability and back health
Twists rotate the spine and stretch the muscles of the back. This helps to restore and retain the spine’s natural energy of motion. If we don’t use our natural range of motion, we run the risk of our joints hardening and fusing.
2. Release stuck energy
Through twisting, we lengthen the spine and get space between the bones. Then, there can be better flow in energy. Giving us an instant energy shift, twits help decompress the vertebrae in a safe and healthy way.
3. Helps in detoxification
Twists are detoxifying because of the squeeze and soak action. The organs of detoxification and elimination are compressed pushing out old blood and so then when we release the twist, fresh blood can flow in.
4. Helps in digestion
Twists are well-known to aid in digestion. Twists are an amazing way of creating movement in and around organs. So, if we want our food to move along in our body in a healthy way, twists are amazing for that!
5. Reduces abdominal fats
Twisting poses help in getting that prim and poised body shape and burn abdominal fat. Excess fat on the belly and side fats along the obliques are reduced to a large extent if done regularly.
6. Minimizes back pain
Busy lifestyles and sitting stagnant on the work desks at the office for long hours weaken the back and causes postural defects. These bad habits can cause problems and back pain issues. Yoga twists can easily help alleviate back pain and aids in correcting posture.
