Laowa 10mm f/4 Cookie Lens for APS-C Released
Well-known specialty lens manufacturer, Laowa, has just launched another interesting lens: the Laowa 10mm f/4 Cookie lens for mirrorless APS-C cameras is a tiny pancake lens that should fit in any pocket really.
This new lens might be tiny in size, but the focal length of a mere 10mm makes it one of the widest rectilinear pancake lenses for APS-C cameras.
According to Laowa, the name Cookie refers to the small size of this new lens, it’s not a pancake… but a cookie with a length of 25mm (0.98″)and a weight of just 130g (0.29lbs).

Typically, such wide-angle lenses have obvious barrel distortion and/or a fisheye or pinhole lens design. However, according to the manufacturer, the new Laowa Cookie lens features a high-performance optical design that boasts extremely low distortion and optimized image quality to ensure pleasing results with little to no distortion.

The Lens has black and silver versions for multiple mounts including Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E, L mount and Fuji X to match with the camera body. As usual, it is a fully manual lens.

The lens features a 109.3° angle of view and its lens design sports 12 elements in 8 groups with 2 aspherical and 4 extra-low dispersion elements. The iris features 5 aperture blades.

Laowa claims that performance has been optimized in terms of chromatic aberration, flaring and ghosting, and if you need to take a close-up shot, the minimum focusing distance of 10cm (3.94″) will come in handy.
The lens offers a 37mm filter thread.
